Thank you for visiting our fundraising page. We’re taking part in The Pink Star Walk to raise money for the Breast Cancer Foundation NZ in memory of Toni Girven. Toni was a big supporter of this event. Sadly, she passed away in August last year after a long battle with breast cancer. She was a devoted mother and a much loved wife, daughter, sister and friend. This year we will be walking in her honour again.
Unfortunately we all know someone who has fought or is fighting some sort of cancer. Please help us to make their fight that little bit easier!
Nine women a day are diagnosed with breast cancer in New Zealand. The money raised from our walk will be used to fund vital research projects, promote early detection and support New Zealanders recovering from and living with breast cancer in New Zealand.
We cannot do this alone but with your help we can make a difference. For example, $40 could fund an hour with an experienced breast nurse to support breast cancer patients in their time of need.
If we reach our target of $500, Breast Cancer Foundation NZ will be able to fund four counselling sessions for a woman recovering from or living with breast cancer, or laboratory equipment needed for vital research to improve breast cancer patient survivorship. Of course you don't have to sponsor $40 - any amount will be hugely appreciated and gratefully received.
