Nau mai, haere mai and welcome to Operation Love Tank's team page!
The Pink Star Walk is a fundraising and awareness raising walk taking place around the Wellington waterfront in New Zealand on Saturday 3 November.
One in nine women a day on average are diagnosed with breast cancer in New Zealand. 80% of people with breast cancer survive ten years or more (95% if detected early on screening mammogram). The money raised from our walk will be given to the Breast Cancer Foundation NZ and will be used to fund vital research projects, promote early detection and support New Zealanders recovering from and living with breast cancer in New Zealand.
We all have stories of cancer, our own or that of others who are dear to us, and there are many fundraisers for different types of cancer to support. This year, we're choosing to raise awareness and money for breast cancer in honour of and with our dear friend Angela.
If you're in Wellington, we'd love to have you join us on the walk- there may even be matching t-shirts! Sign up at www.pinkstarwalk.co.nz
If you're not based in Wellington, any koha (donation) will be appreciated and gratefully received.
